This Privacy Policy explains how QaqiMai ("QaqiMai", "we", "us", or "our"), a bike sharing service operating in Suva, Fiji, collects, uses, and protects information when you use the QaqiMai app and our bikes. By creating an account or using our service, you agree to the collection and use of information as described in this policy.
2. Information We Collect
We collect the following categories of information:
- Account information: full name, email address, and phone number provided when you sign up.
- Ride and location data: trip start and end points, route, GPS coordinates during an active ride, duration, and bike ID, used to calculate fees and support the in-app zone map.
- Wallet and transaction data: your QaqiMai wallet balance, top-up amounts, and transaction history.
- Payment information: all payments are processed on our behalf by our payment processor, Tech360 Fiji, using MPAiSA, MyCash, or Windcave. Your bank, card, or mobile money statement will show charges as "Tech360 Fiji". QaqiMai does not store your full card number, mobile money PIN, or banking credentials.
- Device information: basic technical data such as device type and app version, used for troubleshooting and security.
3. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Create and manage your account;
- Unlock bikes, calculate ride fees, and process wallet top-ups and payments;
- Show your live location and nearby parking or speed-limit zones on the in-app map;
- Maintain your ride history and trip records;
- Communicate with you about your account, rides, or support requests;
- Detect fraud, misuse, or violations of our Terms & Conditions;
- Improve and maintain the reliability of the QaqiMai service.
4. Sharing Your Information
We do not sell your personal information. We share information only where necessary:
- With our payment processor Tech360 Fiji, and its payment partners MPAiSA, MyCash, and Windcave, to process top-ups and payments;
- With service providers who help us operate the app (for example, hosting or SMS/OTP delivery), under confidentiality obligations;
- Where required by Fijian law, regulation, or a valid legal request;
- To protect the rights, safety, or property of QaqiMai, our riders, or the public.
5. Data Security
We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your information from unauthorised access, loss, or misuse. Payments are processed by our payment processor Tech360 Fiji: card data is handled through Windcave's PCI-compliant gateway, and mobile money top-ups are authorised directly with MPAiSA and MyCash using one-time verification codes. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
6. Data Retention
We retain account and ride history information for as long as your account is active, and for a reasonable period afterward to meet legal, accounting, or dispute-resolution obligations. You may request deletion of your account as described below.
7. Your Rights
You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information by contacting us at [email protected]. Some information, such as records of completed transactions, may need to be retained for legal or accounting purposes even after a deletion request.
8. Children's Privacy
QaqiMai is not intended for children under the age of 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can remove it.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date above. Continued use of the app after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
